Leadership Speaker

Leadership speaker for the team you have actually got

Picture the Monday after a long weekend. Two of your best people are circling a problem nobody wants to own, the new apprentice is standing around waiting to be told what to do, and your most experienced hand has quietly had enough. That is leadership in a real business, and no model on a slide quite prepares you for it.

I have run that Monday for 18 years. As a leadership speaker, I bring what I learned holding a team together through good years and brutal ones, across five generations who all want different things from work. If you want a business strategy session to sit alongside it, the two work well together.

What a leadership keynote covers

  • Leading and motivating multiple generations across one team without losing any of them.
  • Turning managers who were promoted for their technical skill into leaders people follow.
  • Having the hard conversation early, while it is still cheap to fix.
  • Holding standards and culture when you are stretched across too many jobs.
  • Knowing which decisions to keep and which to hand over.

Why leadership decides everything else

Most managers earned the job by being good at the work, then got handed a team with no real training in how to lead one. Add hybrid rosters, constant change and the expectation that a manager also looks after wellbeing, and a lot of good people end up quietly out of their depth. When the leadership layer struggles, the owner becomes the fallback for every decision, and the business stops being able to grow past them.

Who books a leadership speaker

Owners who want their managers carrying more of the load. Franchise networks bringing site managers together at a conference. Associations whose members lead teams and want something practical to take home. I tailor the session to the room, so a trade network and a boardroom get different talks built on the same hard-won lessons.

Leadership I have actually lived

I am accredited in the Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team, the Patrick Lencioni methodology, so a keynote can carry through into a structured program if you want the change to stick. The real weight comes from the chair. I have hired, promoted, mentored and let people go, and I have made the mistakes I now help other leaders avoid. You can read about my background or watch me speak before you decide.

What to look for in a leadership speaker

If you are shortlisting, ask one thing: has this person actually led a team, or only read about it? A good leadership speaker can talk about the messy parts, the underperformer, the resignation that stung, the culture that slipped, because that is the job your managers are doing.

Formats

Conference keynote of 45 to 90 minutes, half-day leadership workshop, full-day program, or a one to two day offsite built around the Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team. Melbourne based and available Australia-wide.

FAQs

Both, and the session lands hardest when they are in the room together. Owners and their leadership team leave with the same language and the same plan, which is where real change starts.

Yes. Plenty of clients start with a keynote, then bring me back for a Five Behaviors workshop or offsite for the leadership group.

Yes. I have worked trade networks and conservative associations where the tone has to be right, and I pitch the room accordingly.
