Business Strategy Speaker

Business strategy speaker for owners who want their time back

Ask most owners what's on this week and they will reel it off without pausing. Ask where the business will be in three years and the room goes quiet. The day-to-day eats the strategy, year after year, and the business grows by working the owner harder rather than smarter.

I have lived both sides of that. As one of the few business keynote speakers who has actually built a company that runs without me in it daily, I help your room get clear on where they are headed and what has to change to get there. It pairs naturally with a leadership keynote when the plan depends on the team carrying it.

Busy is the trap, not the goal

A business that needs the owner for every decision cannot scale, cannot be sold, and never gives the owner a proper break. Strategy keeps getting pushed down the list because something is always more urgent. The cost shows up slowly: capped growth, a tired owner, and a business worth less than the years poured into it.

What a business strategy keynote covers

  • Getting clear on where the business is actually going, in plain language.
  • Building a company that keeps running when the owner steps back.
  • The short list of numbers an owner should watch every week.
  • Succession readiness, whether or not you ever plan to sell.
  • Growing without simply adding more hours to the owner's week.

Who books a business strategy speaker

Conference organisers who want owners leaving with a plan, franchise networks aligning the group behind one direction, and associations whose members are good operators but stretched thin. I have run this as a keynote and as a working session, depending on how much you want the room to leave with on paper.

Strategy from someone who has done it

The Kitchens You Build national conference started as a keynote and grew into ongoing strategic work across the network. After the bushfires, I ran a recovery and strategy session for more than 30 owners at Lake Eildon who had lost their summer trade. You can see more of that work or read my background.

What to look for in a business strategy speaker

Plenty of strategy talks sound clever and change nothing. Look for someone who has built a business, not only advised on one, and who can make a plan simple enough that a flat-out owner will actually use it. Ask whether the session ends with something on paper, and whether it suits owners and managers together. The test of a good strategy speaker is what the room does the week after, not how the framework looked on the day.

Formats

Keynote of 45 to 90 minutes, half-day Strategic Planning Foundations workshop, full-day deep dive, or a multi-day owner intensive. The business retreat is the deepest version of this work.
